Not Tom is a London based design consultancy specialising in bespoke event, exhibition and furniture design. Established in 2009, we have built a strong reputation based on creating consistently engaging and original work for clients from small privately run businesses to large government funded and financial organisations.
We relish a creative challenge and have purposely not developed a house style to enable each and every project to be designed sensitively and appropriately to the brief. Underpinning this creativity is an intelligent practicality resulting in visually stunning, yet usable spaces that aim to enhance the prominence of a brand and create memorable experiences within a physical environment.
This is our bread and butter, and it's what we do best. We carry out a "dark art" process that involves producing a broad range of initial sketch concepts that we then eliminate, develop, fine-tune and combine to a single or small number of well thought out concepts for your consideration.
We consider every space individually, and we use our experience of how consumers react to spaces with different uses to define their layout. This consideration for the end user combined with our ability to produce dynamic, engaging and original ideas provides environments in which a company can best interact with their customers, whilst making a statement.
We believe the products and furnishings within a space have as much sway over how it looks and feels as the main structure and decoration does. That's why we offer a service producing bespoke furniture for the spaces we design or as stand alone pieces.
Other than furniture we provide a range of additional collateral that improves an events effectiveness and visibility such as; graphic design, web design, lighting and AV. Need anything else... give us a tinkle, we just might be able to help.
As a design consultancy rather than a builder or manufacturer we will work solely in the interest of our clients. For this reason, we can value engineer our concepts to fit our client's budgets and requirements and pride ourselves on producing creative concepts no matter what the production resources.
The way we prefer to work is by managing the whole project from start to finish. Of course, our clients can pick where they want us involved (i.e. just at the concept stage or just at the build) but we find we produce the best results when we manage every stage of the process including design, build and disposal or repeat.
We are always aware that events for brands or companies are part of a wider picture, therefore we can produce physical brand guidelines and event strategy for an organisation to use in the future. On the flip-side we can carefully ensure that the space we are working on fits with anything the organisation may have done previously. It's up to you.
